Delta 10 THC is one of the hundreds of cannabinoid chemical compounds that is able to be extracted legally from hemp cannabis plants. It is a THC compound, so it is not entirely dissimilar from Delta 9 or Delta 8 THC, but can have slightly different effects and uses for different users.

Delta 10 THC is different from Delta 8 and Delta 9 THC in a few ways. One major difference is it its qualities lend itself more to relaxation and tension relief, with less of the THC “high” and therefore fewer of the psychoactive properties of THC – including negative ones like paranoia or over-psychoactive feelings.

As far as effects of the products go, there are some standard differences between the two compounds that most users notice and report. Delta 8 THC has been found to be more psychoactivally potent than Delta 10 THC. Effects of Delta 8 typically last longer also. The potency difference is based on cannabinoid ratios. Delta 8 extractions typically contain more CBN (another cannabinoid compound that has been found to have relaxing and sedative effects) and therefore produce more of the psychoactive high of THC. This difference in potency is what makes Delta 10 produce less of a high feeling and more of an overall relaxing and calming effect. 

Historically Delta 10 has been illegal but since the Farm Bill of 2018 passed nationwide many previously outlawed compounds derived from marijuana plants have been legal for sale as long as the Delta 10 compound contained in any products is derived from 100% legal hemp plants or CBD flower.
